LING LEE - Director / Producer / Camera

Born in Berlin, I worked as Graphic Designer and Photographer
before going to Edinburgh where I graduated at Edinburgh College of Art in 2007
with a First Class BA. My short film Lo queme queda de Vos, filmed in Argentina, won the
2008 Scottish Students on Screen Experimental Award.
In 2006 I received a PRS Foundation award to perform an audio-visual performance.

I edited the feature-length documentary The Edge of Dreaming (directed by Amy Hardie,
commissioned by CH4, ARTE/ZDF, POV) which premiered at the
International Documentary Festival Amsterdam. It has since been shown
in more than twenty festivals and received a worldwide cinema release.
I won a Trailblazer award at the Edinburgh International Filmfestival 2010 for my role as editor.

Editing documentaries led me to the National Film & TV School to study documentary directing.
These last two years at the school have given me time and space to explore
my own voice in documentary filmmaking and am keen to develop my observational style further.
My main interest is in telling human stories with a particular focus on crossover-cultures.
Currently based in London I am working as editor and developing several more projects to be shot in China.

I am a member of the Kitchen Sink Collective that I founded along with seven
other documentary directors from the NFTS.

ADAM THOMAS - Editor

I worked for a number of years in a postproduction company eventually becoming and edit assistant.
In my free time I was editing shorts and learning a lot.

Studying at The National Film and Television School has given me the chance
to continue that process and it has been greatly rewarding. Previous to that I’d graduated
with a 1st class BA Hons in film production at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design.
My graduation film won the Award for Creative Filmmaking at Brief Encounters 2005.

Spending two years here at the NFTS, experimenting with editing image and
sound has been a great opportunity and I’ve made a number of films that I’m proud of.
Meeting so many dedicated and talented students has been a joy.
I hope to continue working with them and to meet equally inspiring people to collaborate with in the future.
